SOLID ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH carries the name “SOLID ROCK” which pertains to our LORD JESUS CHRIST. The hymn described it well, “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and righteousness. On Christ, the Solid Rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.” The Church exist on the same ground, yes the Solid Rock which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE MANDATE OF SOLID ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH:

Taken from the characteristics of the Rock as defined, described and mentioned in the Bible, these are the principles being lived by Solid Rock Baptist Church:

1. To STAND

Solid rock speaks of being firm, of being assured and being sure of one’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Hence, our mandate being a Solid Rock Baptist Church is to stand for the faith which was “once delivered to the saints.” We stand for the old-fashioned, KJV, uncompromising biblical standards of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress” (2 Sam 22:2; Ps 18:2; 71:3)

2. To SHARE

We are not just solid in doctrine but sold out in soulwinning. Our Lord Jesus Christ being the Solid Rock which is the only hope and refuge of the all people is the only One we share to the people. We share Him as the only way of salvation.

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation” (2 Sam 22:3; compare Ps 62:2,7; 89:26); “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Ps 61:2);

3. To SECURE

The Bible describes Rock as a place of refuge and a place of security. SRBC exists as the refuge to the sinners and to the broken. We secure them by pointing them to the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Solid Rock Baptist Church exists to give hope and refuge to all kinds of people.

But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge” (Ps 94:22); “the rock of thy strength” (Isa 17:10)

4. To SEND

Solid Rock Baptist Church believes that one’s faith and one’s hope should not be kept. We believe in spreading the Gospel not just in our country but to the whole world as well.

He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.” (Ps 78:15,16).
