Dear Friend,

As the Pastor of Solid Rock Baptist Church, I wanted to reach out to you in this Pandemic. We at Solid Rock
Baptist Church are concerned for your soul and that you have a right relationship with Jesus Christ as your personal
Saviour.

I know that for so many this is a time of uncertainty and concern. I’m so thankful that even in an uncertain
time such as we face, the Word of God remains unchanged and God still answers prayer. It is my prayer that through
this time, we as a community turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for help and that we consider our eternal souls and that we
are prepared to meet our Creator one day.

Following are some thoughts on the coronavirus in relation to mankind, sin and Jesus Christ.

1. Covid-19 like Sin started in one place and spread until everyone on Earth was in danger.

2. Covid-19 like Sin is invisible to the naked eye. You do not see it coming for you until it is too late and once
inside it begins to do many hurtful things which bring pain and unhapiness.

3. Covid-19 like Sin affects everyone in one way or another.

4. The cost of Covid-19 and Sin to individuals, families, businesses and communities cannot be truly measured.
It is no wonder that people are acting out of fear and concern, doing all that they can to deliver themselves
from this terrible virus. Every right-thinking person is hoping for a way of escape. Just so, wise men and women,
acting out of fear and concern, will do all that they can to deliver themselves and others from Sin. Every rightthinking
person will take the way of escape that is found in the Word of God.

The Cure for Covid-19 is yet unknown, but the Cure for the Sin of mankind is found in Salvation through the
Lord Jesus Christ.

Much unnecessary confusion exists today over salvation. Paul stated it simply as “…repentance toward God,
and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” in Acts 20:21. Here is what you need to understand cleary:

1. ALL MEN ARE SINNERS AND THIS INCLUDES YOU!
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23. Men are natural born rebels against the Law
of God. God’s Law is holy and pure and you have broken it repeatedly throughout your life. If you doubt this, why not
examine your own heart against the Law, otherwise known as the Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20:1-17?
Have you ever told a lie? Have you honored your parents at all times? Have you ever blasphemed by using the name
of God in vain? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever committed adultery in your heart by looking with lust?
If you have failed in any of these areas, James 2:10 states plainly, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet
offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:10

2. YOUR PERSONAL SINS HAVE EARNED YOU A WAGE.
“For the wages of sin is death…” “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire…” Romans 6:23a; Revelation
20:14 A righteous, holy and just God will never allow sin and rebellion to go unpunished or He would cease to be
holy. God will never compromise His righteousness or holiness to allow a guilty sinner to go free! (You wouldn’t
think a judge on this earth was a good judge if he allowed known criminals to go free, would you?) No, the Bible
promises a due reward for your sins and transgressions. For “…God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus
Christ…” “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of Fire.” Romans
2:16; Revelation 20:15

3. GOD, IN HIS LOVE AND MERCY, HAS PROVIDED SALVATION FOR YOU.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
There is nothing you can do to atone for your sins or to make peace with God. Your good deeds or good
intentions cannot take away your sins! Church membership, water baptism and religion cannot take away your
sins. But, God sent his only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die condemned in your place and pay for
your ungodliness! When John the Baptist first saw the Lord Jesus Christ coming to him, he proclaimed,
“…Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29.
This is the good news! Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried and rose again the third day.
Isaiah prophesied that Jesus Christ would do this for us. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we
like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the
iniquity of us all…it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an
offering for sin…He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satised…” Isaiah 53:5-6, 10, 11
God Almighty is satised with the payment that His Son Jesus Christ made for your sins and this is the only thing
that will satisfy His holy wrath. Jesus fullled the Law for us and God now has a holy and just way to redeem
sinners. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us…” “For Christ also hath
once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God…” Galatians 3:13 and 1 Peter 3:18.

4. YOU CAN BE SAVED AND POSSESS ETERNAL LIFE RIGHT NOW!
How? “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.

You must come humbly to Jesus Christ and put all of your faith in Him. To believe on him is to trust him alone
for your soul’s salvation! Most people will not put their complete faith in the Lord Jesus because they are rebels
against God and would rather continue in their sins or hold on to the self righteousness of their religion! This is
why Jesus said, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” The apostle Paul told some superstitious
pagans in Acts 17:30 that God used to wink at their ignorant worship, “…but now commandeth all men every
where to repent:” Why not turn to God right now and put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in Him alone!
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:10, 13.
Are you sick of your sin? Do you desire to be saved? Do you want the change that comes by trusting Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Saviour? Then, why not call on God and receive the Lord Jesus Christ right now! You
could pray something like this:

“Dear God, I am a sinner and I deserve to perish. I know I have continually broken your Laws and have sinned
in your sight I am asking you to have mercy on me and save my soul. I do believe that Jesus Christ died for me
and rose again the third day. Please be merciful to me, a sinner and receive me as one of your own. The best way
I know how, I am coming to you for salvation. Please cleanse me and help me to live for you from this day forth!
In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!”

If you have called upon the name of the Lord from an honest and repentant heart, we rejoice with you
that you have found the everlasting Cure for Sin. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and if there is
anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Sincerely,

Pastor Jon Harwood
